God is love.

This being the true, as I go about my day, God is at work not merely around me, but toward me as well. He is loving me (and you). He is bringing me peace. Joy. Wisdom.

I don’t need to be frantic or rushed. I don’t need to be fearful. My tasks are to be enjoyed. I don’t have a list to get through, but rather I can enjoy the process that each item brings me: Going on my run (in the snow and ice – it is beautiful outside). Feeding the animals on the farm. Driving through the countryside (while watching for ice). Writing a sermon about Peace (Shalom). Returning phone calls and addressing difficult conversations. Giving and receiving counsel. Talking to my family on the phone. Completing administrative tasks. Enjoying food. Running errands. Being with my wife. Interacting with staff, strangers, and parishoners. Doing all of these things, while being actively loved by God.

We love, because we are loved.
